Towne Homecare, LLC (“Towne Homecare”) has become aware of a data security incident that may have resulted in the inadvertent exposure of personal and medical information. Although at this time there is no evidence of sensitive information being misused, the company has taken steps to send letters to anyone whose information may have been exposed.
On May 17, 2021, Towne Homecare detected and stopped a cyber-attack resulting in unauthorized access to individuals’ personal and medical information. Upon learning of the network security incident, Towne Homecare immediately shut off access to the network and engaged computer forensic experts to determine if any information was impacted. Towne Homecare reviewed all network locations where sensitive data could have been viewed, and then arranged for notification of all individuals whose sensitive data could have been exposed.
While there is no evidence of sensitive information being misused, Towne Homecare remains committed to protecting sensitive data. The company has taken steps to send letters to anyone whose information may have been exposed. Letters sent to potentially impacted individual include additional information about what occurred, credit monitoring services being offered, contact information for Towne Homecare, and a toll-free number where individuals can learn more about the incident.
